a contiguous reality - juxtaposed
While we continue on through our journey of being, we experience this as snippets of truth in contrast to fallacy.
We see frames of light, as rate, pockets of space in finite containers and so on. This is how we talk about and persist as being. This is the foundational reality of dualism, without a truly independent other.
We are, in fact, continuously fooled into seeing and feeling a universe that has some foundational reality (say, a big bang) versus a seamless and contiguous ever present being.
We don't, in fact, get to be one or the other, but a continuous flux of state changes. For humans existing on a planet, those changes are almost imperceptible. Wild swings in environment wouldn't extoll a natural stability, of this we can be certain.
It's often commented on as "consciousness", which is a state of awakened being, but even that is wildly misleading, since awake or asleep are not independently existing states either.
It becomes clearer when you examine self and other, often through mediation, but realization unfolds irrespective of states of any sort of perceptual independence.
We don't get to escape from, this, to examine it in any other way.
